The End of Summer Blues and Going Back to College
August 1, 2018, 3:20pm
It’s no secret that Summer often seems like the most optimistic and fun months of the year. After all, who would say no to months of blissful rest, fun activities and no school? Not I! However, when it comes to the end of Summer, a lot of us get to feeling a little blue and it might even seem to a few of us that the fun of summer is over forever. But don’t be too upset. After all, there are plenty of ways to beat those Summer blues and get back to school swingin’. Need some ideas? Keep reading!
Treasure the Memories
One of the best ways to beat those dreadful Summer Blues is to find ways to surround yourself in the wonderful memories you created with your friends and family before you headed back to school. Make a photo album or frame your favorites and put them on your desk or hang them on the walls. No doubt you have plenty of perfect pictures to choose from, so don’t be shy and cover that wall if you have to! We promise it’ll be next to impossible to wipe the grin off your face when you remember all the wonderful things you got to do with your bestie this Summer.
Get Excited About Autumn
It’s closer than you think! Halloween, Thanksgiving...it’s all right around the corner and we can hardly wait, right? Better start planning your fall wardrobe and getting ready for Football. The more you think positively about the things to come, the less you’ll miss the fun in the past, so write down all of the things you are beyond excited over for the beginning of Autumn!
Back To School Shopping, Anyone?
One of the best parts of going back to school, right?? Back to School Shopping! There’s nothing like getting a brand new jacket, hat, or laptop bag. And there’s no better way to kick those End of Summer Blues than shopping with friends and getting a milkshake on the way home. Don’t let the end of summer be the end of the fun. Carry it all back to school with you...in a brand new backpack!
Stay Positive
Even if you’re not that ten-year-old kid getting scared when Summer is halfway over and dreading the return of school, you’re probably feeling a little blue thinking of all the things you didn’t get to do and dread the return of restriction, responsibility and even the cool weather itself. But don’t sweat it! If you’re careful to think positively about all the good things that come when school returns, you’re less likely to feel blue. Try cranking up your favorite summer tunes and thinking back to the good times. Think about all the fun still left to have in the year and all the things you your buddies can do on the weekends and evenings. Even studying together can be fun with a couple bags of chips, some music and good friends!
Are you sad about waving goodbye to the end of Summer and saying hello to school? Remember to look towards the future and cherish the time you had and you’ll be ready to have a ball right into fall.
